Dreamworks may have the wonderful How to Train Your Dragon franchise, but Disney has no shortage of its own fantasy reptiles. There's the Maleficent dragon, of course, joined by the Reluctant Dragon, Figment, Mushu, the Jabberwock, Vermithrax Pejorative and that fellow under the castle in Paris....
And, of course, Elliott (sometimes spelled Elliot by Disney, but I'm going with the spelling in the movie credits), seen here at Disney California Adventure shortly before this edition of the Electrical Parade moved to Walt Disney World.
Elliott deserves to win the title of "best float in any parade, anywhere." He's also one of the most well-traveled characters, following the Electrical Parade (which once ran simultaneously in California and Florida) as it moved over the years from Disneyland to the Magic Kingdom to Disney California Adventure and then back to the Magic Kingdom.
In either resort, though, you don't need to have seen the film to enjoy his smoke-spewing, nonsense-talking, now-you-see-him-now-you-don't antics (he first joined the parade months before the movie hit theaters). As Pete says while riding astride the beast's neck, "You're silly, Elliott!"
Silly, lovable and unforgettable.
