Disneyland Annual Passholders Receive a Free Book

Disneyland passholder souvenir book 2012
Disneyland Annual Passholders have been finding a nice surprise freebie in the mail this week: A Celebration of a Wish Come True, an 80-page 8 1/2 x 11 1/4 souvenir book commemorating the resort's amazing summer of 2012.

Nicely designed and well-produced, its aim -- like many Disney souvenir/promo books -- is to capture the emotions of a Disney vacation (lots of happy faces) instead of focusing on every attraction. Yet there are a many outstanding, unusual photos and -- best of all -- a well-deserved focus on Cast Members, starting right off with the inner covers.
Disneyland cast members DCA Cars Land Passholder book
This past amazing summer couldn't have happened without these folks.

Spot John Lasseter!
The book is logically organized by land, starting with the realms of Disneyland Park and then heading over to DCA.
Disneyland Small World passholder book
Somehow the overcast sky actually makes Small World seem even cheerier.
Tomorrowland Disneyland Mandy Monorail Matterhorn passholder book
Mandy Monorail approaches; even Disneyland got into the Radiator Springs spirit.
Ten of the book's eighty pages are devoted to Cars Land, the home-run that finally turned DCA into a worthy sister park to Disneyland.
Flo's Mater Cars Land Carsland Passholder book
Mater actually does drive past Flo's (chatting up a storm) many times a day
2012's other new Land, Buena Vista Street, gets eight pages.
Five Dime DCA Disney California Adventure Passholder book
Love this shot of Five & Dime! Do not miss this group when you visit DCA
Downtown Disney and the three hotels share the final four pages.

Overall, the book's a pleasant surprise. It doesn't really lessen the sting of  2012's huge AP price hike, but it did its job: reminded me of how much fun this past summer has been, and how many new shows and attractions opened in June. This is one promo item that's found a home on my bookshelf instead of the recycle bin.
