Tucked right between Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney, this calming, quiet paradise defines the term "Hidden in Plain Sight." Although it's easily accessed from both DCA and Downtown Disney, the entry points don't call attention to themselves. As a result, most resort guests never think to drop in for a mid-day break (which is a good thing for the lobby's peaceful atmosphere).
If you need to escape from the park crowds or just unwind for a bit -- but don't want to head all the way back to your hotel room -- you'll find incredibly comfortable seating and (often) live piano performances of some classic Disney ballads.
Dining options at the Grand Californian include the amazing Napa Rose, the family-oriented Storytellers Cafe and the quick-service White Water Snacks. Adults may also enjoy a fireside drink at the Hearthstone Lounge.
When you're rested, fed and ready to go, the parks are -- literally -- right down the corridor!
I am such a sucker for live music, which I'm sure you can guess. This reminds me of the lobby on the Disney Cruise where they sing/play classic Disney tunes all the time. One of my favorite, most relaxing moments!
ReplyDeleteOur trips are so quick lately that we never have time to just stop and hang out in the lobby and listen to music. But I think I'm going to have to make it a priority next time.
