In honor of the land that saved an entire park, Mouse Troop happily presents the top ten reasons we find it tough to leave DCA's amazing automotive universe.
1) THE ROCK WORK
Pictures and videos don't do justice to this enormous, amazing fantasy landscape. Although it's all part of Radiator Springs Racers, the rock work of Cars Land is also an attraction in itself--one that can be enjoyed at leisure by all guests. It's certainly the main reason we find it hard to tear ourselves away from the place.
2) RADIATOR SPRINGS RACERS
3) FLO'S V8 CAFE
This combination of great food, friendly service, wonderful music and eye-popping views of RS Racers makes Flo's our favorite restaurant at DCA. We consider it as important to the Cars Land experience as the big ride. Grab a table with a view, relax, and simply soak it all in. The difficult part is leaving.
Life could be a dream...Doot doot doot doo SH-BOOM! Just like in the film, the little town lights up at dusk to the sounds of the classic Chords single. Between the glowing mountain range, the brilliant neon and the land's catchy song soundtrack, nighttime in Radiator Springs is just about as good as a theme park experience can get.
5) LIGHTNING AND MATER ON THE ROAD
On their way to and from their meet and greet appearances, Lightning McQueen and Mater enter and exit the town along Cross Street, talking to guests as they go. The effect is charming and great fun.
6) MATER'S JUNKYARD JAMBOREE
Easily our favorite "flat" (spinner-type) ride of all time, this wild, musical swing around Mater's stomping ground is one of the funniest and most unexpectedly thrilling rides in the entire resort.
7) THE COZY CONE MOTEL
It's not just the delicious, crazy food all served in cones...The fun is in just how insanely far the cone-theme is taken. It's like a gigantic, living hidden-picture puzzle that keeps unfolding and unfolding and unfolding...
8) THE DOC HUDSON MUSEUM
9) LUIGI'S FLYING TIRES
This whimsical, off-the-wall ride is a lot of fun, as well as a unique experience you're not going to get anywhere else. For a couple of minutes, you get to pilot your own hovercraft on a giant air hockey table. Don't waste time trying to bump other folks; head for open space and cruise!
10) MEETING LIGHTNING AND MATER
The photo-op with Lightning and Mater (they alternate) is one of the most well-run meet-and-greet locations we've ever seen. The cars greet guests as they approach, and often continue to joke around throughout the experience. A real effort is made here to highlight the cars' personalities, and it turns this encounter into a truly good time for all ages.
There's much, much more to Cars Land beyond this list: we didn't even get to the town's incredible music, Mater's Petting Zoo or the hundreds of fun little details to discover all over Carburetor County!
Please join us Monday as we focus on DCA's other one-year-old land, Buena Vista Street!
